This is a big one, but I feel I owe it to all of my super sweet supporters, fabulous followers, and quilters and crafters in blog land. Because it is a big one, it will be up until July 16th. You must comment- that is all... and promise- even if you are fibbing, to come back and visit, or direct your friends my way. Just humor me for Pete's sake! Then I will pick a number using the random number indicator.
What's at stake here? A lovely twin quilt, in peachy hues. A combination of Heather Bailey and Heather Ross, married to Valorie Wells, Amy Butler, and a few others. The pattern is one I developed for Sis Booms 7 color ways of Flower Power Michel,( It can be seen below on the post "An Invitation for you" hanging on the wall behind George the Labradoodle) and re-did it when I was trying to make a pattern that others could use.
Winner #1 will receive the quilt.
Winners # 2 and #3 will receive 10 fat quarters or the pattern- their choice.
Winners will be announced on Tuesday the 14th!
Good luck.

ReplyDeletekrousegirl2 at aol dot com
Oh. My. Goodness.
ReplyDeleteNo really.
WOW!
I cannot believe how amazing that is. I took a beginner's class two summers ago and decided I wasn't chalked up to be a quilter. The pressure, the math! (However, that said, every quilter I've met told me I must have had a terrible teacher as quilting should be fun and relaxing. Maybe, once Little Bit is in school, I will try it again.)
I am definitely going to be a faithful follower. Maybe you will be the kick in the pants I need to quilt. I have ALL the squares I need for a 100 Good Wishes Quilt for our little gal, and really would love to even piece it myself.
Cheers,
Kiy @ RC&T

Nancy,
ReplyDeleteIn reference to the Bruce Weber’s photograph on your blog (June 15, 2009). I remember the photograph of you quite vividly in the photograph for British Vogue (October 15, 1980). It was titled “Country Clothes Great Outsiders Naturally.” The photographs of you and Sloane are also quite delightful on pages 98-99. Sloane looks quite enchanting on page 110, doesn’t she? I loved you in so many other editions too. The impressionistic photographs of you and Sloane and the talented photographers that magically captivated and recorded you both are from an era that left quite an unforgettable impression on my mind, and probably always will. Perhaps, you feel the same shared nostalgic impressions from your most spirited days with Bruce Weber?
The things you’re giving away are lovely and most treasurable. Peach, ochre, pink, orange and terracotta are some of my favorite colors. Should I be so lucky as to win a little something, I shall make something lovely, and probably keep it for as long as all those lovely British Vogues you so wholesomely graced. Although, I think you already know this! In heart and mind, you capture a very special place.
“Fresh… scrubbed clean skin glowing with the faintest wash of rosy colour… Shining hair feathering softly from a tousled knot… this is the way to look perfectly lovely… it starts with radiant good health”.
British Vogue, October 15, 1980
That's a beautiful quilt! If I win it, I'll have a fight on my hands ... my daughters will be fighting over who gets to have it on their bed LOL! Thanks for the opportunity!
